Discovering New Prospects With A New LED Technology By ByteLight
Posted: February 16, 2013 | Author: flash | Filed under: LED | Tags: Technology | Comments OffWhile the world is talking about big innovations and the advanced form of LEDs, a new type of LED light bulb caught our attention. This innovative light bulb developed by the ByteLight not only gives off light but also an ethereal barcode which can be easily read and understood by your mobile camera. These screw-in lights can be arranged as per their functionality and projects, some of which are still unknown to the manufacturers. ByteLight is a portfolio company that has recently launched the new light bulb which is ready for its first live technology at the Boston Museum of Science. The company has also promised to offer customers a break at the product, so if you check out the ByteLight website in the next two weeks, you may actually be able to purchase your own.
To celebrate the new innovation, ByteLight will be inaugurating a hackathon on February 26th at their Boston offices, and the thinkers and tinkers around the world will be invited to discover new possibilities to leverage the new LED technology to the world.
How does the ByteLight’s New LED technology work?
The LED light bulb by ByteLight has its unique embedded ID code that can be easily transmitted using the visible light. With the right type of mobile app, you can translate that ID using your smartphone or tablet in order to access the pre-stored or online data.
Mapping possibilities with the new technology?
ByteLight will soon be launching the ‘precise indoor positioning’ functionality which will enable users to tell others where they are with a resolution on a scale, which is not possible with GPS. Backed with a robust mapping app, you will no more feel lost in a strange place again.
These LED bulbs may also be set up at home to tell others where you are in the apartment, whether you are in the kitchen or getting ready for work.
Discovering other possibilities:
Besides mapping functionality, the ByteLight technology will also help you get information about sales in the location where you are at present. This technology may be used by teachers and employees to keep attendance tracking with ease; and in the conferences to get all information displayed with a flash of your Smartphone.
These are just the tip of the iceberg, and the ByteLight’s LED light can be used in several interesting ways to improve communication, so you will have to wait until the brainstormers come up with new prospects and possibilities.
